KATz Safaris

Get in touch with your wild side and lose yourself in the wonder that comes from being in the Tanzanian wilderness. Venture into some of Africa’s finest National parks and feel the world around you come to life as you indulge in a once in a lifetime experience like no other.

Safari KATz offers a rustic experience for those looking to get up close and personal with nature. Tanzania’s national parks offer an abundance of wildlife in diverse natural settings from the sweeping plains of the Serengeti to the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera that is known as the Ngorongoro Crater.

KATz driver guides are all highly qualified and have a minimum of 10 years experience. They are all professional and service oriented individuals whose knowledge and enthusiasm for the wild, their country and their people will leave a noticeable imprint on your experience.

KATz cooks are all well-trained and experienced in cooking on safari with limited resources. Our Safari menus are all pre-arranged and designed with the western palate in mind. Our cooks cater to any special dietary requests and supply a variety of nutritional meals which are prepared in alignment with the strictest hygiene standards.

All the required safari equipment is provided by KATz. The equipment is of high quality and is inspected thoroughly before departure. The KATz safari vehicles are all well maintained and reliable.

KATz has specially designed several safari itineraries which incorporate a variety of National parks to allow for maximum game viewing. The set itineraries have been created with volunteers and travellers in mind, keeping to a lower budget and covering a range of time frames.

Set itineraries incorporate any or all of the following National parks; Arusha National Park, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater reserve. They are camping safari’s ranging from one to six days and some include culture tours to visit and hunt with various Tanzanian tribes. KATz have designed set itineraries based on popular demand and because we know the location and distance of the game parks. Thus, we understand how many days are required to get the most out of certain National parks/reserves.

The cost of any of the set itineraries starts at $170 USD per person per day (based on a minimum group of 5 persons). KATz accept payment direct into their Australian, UK or Tanzanian bank accounts or in cash on arrival. Cash on arrival option requires a 50% deposit to be paid 2 weeks prior to the safari commencement date. KATz also accepts payments via paypal, however this option comes with an additional charge of 3.5% to cover the associated bank fees.

If you are a single traveler/volunteer and would like to form a group to keep costs down, KATz will endeavour to find additional numbers to fill your safari.

While set itineraries are convenient for many people, we understand they are not for everyone. Please contact us to discuss your personal preferences and requirements and we will assist you in designing your very own ultimate safari experience.

  1. Thanks Jodie, Kelvin, Daniel and Peter for this awesome Safari! We really had a great time! We’ve been to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater National Park. We’ve seen like every kind of wild animal you would want to see! Some were pretty close and some where from further away. But thanks to our guides we have always been very safe! :) And of course we have had the best cook ever! We really enjoyed our safari and the head on head adventure with the wild animals a lot! Thanks so much! :)

  2. A huge thank you to Jodie & Kelvin with KATZ safaris for our awesome safari, it was everything we had hoped for and more. Our driver guide Peter, was amazing with a wealth of knowledge and eyes of an eagle for spotting things. Our cook Maulid was superb and we still dream about his soups every time we sit down to eat dinner.

Jodie was extremely helpful when I was trying to set up the safari and answered all of my many questions honenstly and quickly so that I felt very confident booking with them and I’m glad I did. Our safari through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro was great and the 5 day length I feel is just right for as one can only handle so much dust before needing a break :) You can read all the details of the trip and how well it was put together on our blog, http://www.faastracktravel.ryanfaas.ca, where we go into way too much detail. The newish tents were great to sleep in, particularly having the overhead storage, and easy to find in the dark as they were reflective and different than all the other safari tents in the campsites.

Pics coming soon to facebook, Jodie let me know if you’d like some of them for the website as we appreciated everything you put together so very much.

    Thank you,
    Ryan and Lindsay Faas

  3. Went on a 5 day Safari to Lake Manyara, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater! It was absolutely amazing and made all a whole lot better by the driver and cook! Joshua, our drive, was so genuinely enthusiastic about everything and had so much knowledge that he shared with us. Maulidi, our cook, was incredible too. We ate so well all the time, and plenty of it! It was organised very well and I will definitely book through them again on my returns to Tanzaina!
    Asante sans

  4. I couldn’t rate katz any higher!! The safari was amazing, our game drives to tangerie national park and the crator were excellent and saw an amazing array of animals made better by the friendly knowledgable guides. Jodie was like a second mother, before our trip her tips and guidance was so helpful and very reassuring and during our stay when we met with complications (delayed/cancelled flights) she couldn’t have been more helpful!

Thanks for everything Jodie and kelvin

    Sussex team
